The Moon wants what it wants.
We are currently in the energy of Capricorn ♑️, ruled by Saturn. Saturn is still in Pisces ♓️. Capricorn is loaded with transits right now, arranged in a configuration that gives this energy a special kind of power. We have Mercury (which entered late last night – January 1, 2026, at 23:11… or let’s just say 11:11 PM 😉), Venus, the Sun, and Mars all gathered here. All personal planets, winking at us 😏😏.
The Full Moon is happening in Cancer, its home sign. And you know what it does when it’s at home? It gets exactly what it wants! It shines a bright spotlight 💡 on all our emotions and feelings, dragging them centre stage. We’re all going to be unmistakably ourselves – saying exactly what we think, doing exactly what we feel, all driven by emotion – even though the Cancer archetype ♋️ is actually tempered quite a bit by mental rationality.
We no longer have the strength (or even the desire) to hide who we really are. Some might even feel encouraged (thanks to Lilith in Sagittarius) to rebel or dive into a little adventure 🤭. We may see people we respect doing things that genuinely shock us. It’ll all be out in the open, visible to everyone in their circle – just as Capricorn demands, since the Midheaven of this moment falls right there.
Capricorn loves seriousness, structure, and authority. Anything that falls short of that standard risks damaging someone’s public image and career.
The light of this Full Moon will amplify every emotion and feeling because Cancer is currently hosting Jupiter. Whether they like it or not, Pisces ♓️ (again!) and Sagittarius ♐️ are pulled onto the stage too.
A gentle heads-up for those last two signs: drop the nonsense! 😂 Seriously – don’t go chasing dependencies or over-indulging in whatever helps you escape reality. I’m not pointing at anything specific; everyone has their own escape route. This Full Moon will catch up with you no matter where you try to run. Better to sit with it, feel all the pain and joy it brings, and I promise you’ll be rewarded over the next six months. Everyone will end up exactly where they’re meant to be – no exceptions.
Back to the Full Moon: this configuration highlights the 4th-10th house axis (Cancer-Capricorn – which is why I started with Capricorn). This axis governs the balance between private life (family, roots, emotional security, relationship with mother) and public life (career, social status, reputation, seriousness).
It’s a moment when the past – traumas, memories – can surface, asking to be healed. That surfacing can be painful… mostly on an emotional level.
If we bring mental strength and psychological resilience to the table, we can process those old emotions more gently, understanding that we no longer belong to the past. Our role is to carry our roots forward into evolution, as we agreed – consciously or not. We use the past so we don’t repeat it, changing both our future and that of our lineage. In doing so, we earn new, more evolved rights. Think of it as collecting white marbles ⚪️⚪️⚪️ for later.
On the chart of the moment, the Moon in the 4th house (Cancer’s natural house) emphasises focus on home, family, and roots. Its opposition to the Sun in the 10th house points to tension between personal needs (emotional comfort, belonging to family, providing for them) and external duties (career, professional responsibilities, public image). A wide conjunction with Jupiter in the same 4th house can bring positive expansion – resolutions in family matters or opportunities around property. But with Jupiter retrograde, we’re asked to reflect first. At the very least, pay attention to how our plans feel in our body and heart.
This is a great time to recharge in whatever area of life Cancer rules in your natal chart. If it’s actually your 4th house, recharge with family, quiet, and your childhood places. If it falls in your 6th house, for example, recharge by doing daily work you love – something that also supports your health and makes time fly.
The cardinal cross (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn) is strongly activated, pushing us toward action, initiative, and dynamic change.
The amplified emotions can give us real emotional power (and emotional intelligence), but they can also create tension between sensitivity and rigidity. That’s exactly why we have emotional intelligence – to spot where we’re making mistakes, let go of rigidity and the need to be right, and ease the tension.
On the flip side, we might feel ambition, discipline, and career focus, wanting quick results – yet patience is required. Hidden limitations may appear. Stay dynamic and action-oriented (thoughtful action, not impulsive). Keep balance in partnerships and relationships, even if emotional stiffness shows up. It’s simply highlighting what’s truly meant for us moving forward – what we keep, what we carry into our growth.
Good things to do:
- Connect with family or your roots, your homeland, your childhood places. Make plans with loved ones.
- Check in emotionally. Keep what feels good; recycle what doesn’t.
- Take care of your home and body (clean, eat nourishing food). Drink plenty of water – Cancer loves water.
- Listen to your intuition and dreams. You might wake up with magical ideas after a good night’s sleep.
Things to avoid:
- Conflicts and impulsiveness.
- Major emotional decisions about career or profession – they could harm your public image, my friend.
- Pointless spending.
- Running from your emotions and feelings. Invite them out for coffee instead, have an honest chat, become friends, and build something together.
The Sabian symbol for the Moon at 13° Cancer is: “A hand slightly bent with a very prominent thumb.”
It points to the need to use willpower and determination to shape our character – by redirecting inner emotions and needs into constructive, clear, and firm actions, relationships, and personal directions. It’s about balancing emotional sensitivity with practical ambition.
It also invites us to discover inner power and align personal will with divine will, so we manifest the greater good. Recognise your ability to create reality through gentle intention, without overpowering others.
We’re starting 2026 with a Full Moon, meaning there are still some leftover patterns, behaviours, and attitudes that no longer serve our growth or the new path ahead.
Take the light of this Full Moon into your hands (metaphorically), ask it to gently show you what hurts and what habits no longer serve you, then ask it – just as gently – to help you replace them with love and kindness toward yourself and, ultimately, toward all humanity.
