As the Sun moves from Aries ♈️ into Taurus ♉️, it’s time to continue our series on the zodiac signs. Next up, none other than Taurus.
Taurus is the second sign of the zodiac, covering the general period of April 21 to May 21. Of course, this varies slightly each year depending on the time when the Sun enters Taurus. For instance, in 2025, the Sun moved into Taurus on April 19, just before midnight, transitioning between dates of April 19 and April 20. So, a difference of about a day.
If Aries ♈️ is defined by the identity of “I am,” Taurus ♉️ is all about “I have.” This gives Taurus the drive to accumulate (pretty much anything) to feel secure. The more they have, the more stable and significant they feel 🫶🤣. When we combine the season that celebrates Taurus natives with the characteristics of the Taurus animal itself, we see traits and attitudes that those born under this sign “inherit”:
- Taurus ♉️ is ruled by Venus 🫶, the planet of love, pleasure, beauty, art, generosity, chivalry, money, material possessions and property. On the flip side, the shadow aspects of these divine qualities can also emerge—things like hatred, hostility, aggression, abuse, ugliness, vengeance, envy, poverty or stinginess. These traits can exist in a Taurus too. It’s up to them whether they choose the divine or the darker side. You’ll meet Taurus individuals who are incredibly generous, kind, and beautiful—and they know it. But you’ll also encounter Taurus individuals who are greedy, unkind, and far from beautiful, yet oblivious to it (in fact, they’re often full of themselves and their ways).
- As a fixed sign, these natives love stability. They’re all about lounging on the couch… the fewer changes, the better they think life is. But that’s not entirely true. This resistance to change is their shadow, and it’s crucial for them to recognize it and start embracing change, aligning with it. They’ll later realize that these changes were for their own good. Being so static, they crave a beautiful, harmonious environment that smells like flowers 💐.
- On their own, rarely initiates change. That’s why life often forces them to make a shift, especially if it’s required on a higher spiritual level (at the soul level). Otherwise, they tend to live in compromise, convincing themselves they’re fine where they are. Deep down, they know that’s not true—they’re just fooling themselves. This is one reason Taurus wants to experience things firsthand, to live through events and learn from them. The alternative is learning from others to avoid pain and start doing things “right” from the beginning.
- This zodiac sign is very determined, but they can waste precious time deciding on a direction. So, once they figure out what needs to be done, they should get off the couch and do it. That’s what brings them the luxury and comfort they crave. Perseverance defines them when they work for their own satisfaction. Think of the season itself: the weather’s “indecision” as it shifts from cold to warm, from cloudy to sunny, from rainy to dry air. Once the weather makes up its mind, we get warmth, sunshine and less humidity.
- Taurus is a magnet for accumulating things—valuable items, but also random knick-knacks, small insignificant things. They just want to have a lot, plain and simple. They feel valuable when they have plenty of everything.
- They’re the ultimate lovers of luxury and comfort. Some Taurus individuals work hard for it. Others make everyone else do the work for them. There are also those who simply receive luxury and comfort, flaunting it (or let’s be honest, bragging about it) but not always forever and sometimes at the cost of emotional compromise that borders on humiliation. In such cases, they should ask themselves if the energy drain (sacrificing their soul for material luxury) is worth it. They’re perfectly capable of achieving both luxury and soul-level fulfillment on their own. Not ego-level fulfillment, mind you. They just need to understand and choose the path toward it.
- Being such a fan of luxury and comfort, it can feed their ego to the point of “inflammation,” both literally and figuratively. Literally, they might have a real tendency to gain weight. That comfort (or laziness, let’s call it what it is) can get the better of them. Figuratively, they can display a sense of superiority, pride or boastfulness. That’s why they need to tap into discernment, connect with simple people and simple things, to remind themselves of their true nature.
- Taurus also loves harmony, peace, beauty, art—anything that brings pleasure. These natives often have attractive, pleasing features and a strong practical streak. They’re also highly sensitive. They either love to explore through their senses, as nature intended or they completely dislike it, even recoiling from being touched.
- Like a true veritable bull 🐂, they move slowly, at their own pace, with precision, sometimes out of routine or inertia. They’re fiercely territorial—you simply don’t touch what’s theirs (or what they think is theirs). They’re advised to seek constant personal transformation, to step out of the territorial comfort zone they cling to, and to borrow from their opposite sign, Scorpio, an openness to transformation and discovery. They need to ditch the laziness and become seekers, conquerors.
- Taurus deeply desire is to leave a legacy, to be remembered for having been somewhere, to have their personal mark recognized. This mark varies from one Taurus to another, but the core traits remain the same across all Taurus natives. It’s better for that mark to be one of beauty, art and true wealth (literally) than one dragged down into darkness (as hinted at in the earlier mention of shadow traits).
- It is responsible for nurturing, supporting, and growing the plans initiated during Aries season ♈️. Just as nature flourishes and is cared for during this season, everything grows and is sustained.
I wish Taurus natives anything but laziness. Other than that, they’re free to do as they please, as long as they take responsibility and are eager to learn through their own experiences.
